Carly Fiorina really wants Iowa residents to like her.
The Republican presidential candidate says sheâs willing to cheer for the University of Iowaâs football team â against Stanford, her own alma mater.
"Love my alma mater, but rooting for a Hawkeyes win today," Fiorina tweeted Friday before Iowa played Stanford.

Fiorina graduated Stanford in 1976 with a Bachelor of Arts in philosophy and medieval history.
She also underwent surgery at the schoolâs hospital in 2009 after being diagnosed with breast cancer.
Republican Rep. Justin Amash of Michigan tweeted his disapproval, calling Fiorinaâs tweet âinsulting to voters in Iowa (and everywhere)."
Why would you root for the Hawkeyes? This is insulting to voters in Iowa (and everywhere). https://t.co/4UvjIGYSun â Justin Amash (@justinamash) January 1, 2016
The backlash came from other sources online as well.

Who?
Didn’t she have a show on Nickelodeon?
She’s not old enough to be president.
Gotta be true to your school, man.
Yeah, it does.
What you said.
Iowa is getting corn holed. How did they end up being ranked fifth?
And she’ll do just as well as the Hawkeyes did......
She jinxed us.
Didn’t help?
Christian McCaffrey is pretty good I guess.
I am shocked that Stanford was able to walk all over Iowa State.
Panders aren’t just bears in China anymore....
Corn Holed..Ha!
No clue. The gurus said it was fair.
Most of the bowl games have been disappointing and lackluster.
Pitiful.
So she broadcasts to the world that she has absolutely no loyalty? Well that does qualify her for either GOPe or democrat party, but it’s a no go for me.
From all indicators, she may come up a bit short today.
