Nah, when I go to a public range here there are often Japanese tourist who rent everything, shoot a pile of ammo, and film the whole thing. Where they come from they never get to see firearms, let alone get the barrel hot. Bragging rights for the folks at home.

We had the Japanese parents of an exchange student we had for a summer come for a visit, and going shooting was the top of the husband’s list ( along with driving a “big” American car). He couldn’t hit the broad side of a barn with my Sig 229, so at the end of the session, he had me put up a clean target and shoot one mag. He then took the target, folded it up and put it in his bag. My guess is that it’s on his wall back in Japan and he is probably bragging to his neighbors!
