A 12-year-oldâs dreams came true when she received a puppy as a New Yearâs present from Russiaâs president, after having sent him a letter.
In the true holiday spirit, Olga Maruchshenko, from a small town in Siberia, got the present of a lifetime from Vladimir Putin. He wasnât there in person, but ordered the head of the Republic of Khakassia, where the girl lives with her family, to give Olga a husky puppy after reading the girlâs letter.
The family recently moved to Siberia from Kazakhstan and live on a tight budget, renting a flat.
Olga explained that she dreamed of getting a blue-eyed husky, but that it was a gift that her parents could not afford.
âI promise to take good care of the puppy because itâs my big dream - to own a husky. And I promise to study hard,â the lucky girl wrote in the letter that touched the presidentâs heart.
Olgaâs younger sister also received a present from Putin.

Santa Vlad. And when they say they see you when you’re sleeping, and know when you’re awake, THEY MEAN IT!
CC
Obama, not to be outdone sent her a cup of ‘shave ice’.
Good move here Vlad. For the price of a puppy he gets great PR that money can’t buy.
LOL!
But still, it was a nice thing to do.
Unlike our ‘leader’, Vlad loves dogs...alive, not fried.
:)
No, he sent her a George Foreman grill, not totally understanding the normal point of having a dog.
That is one adorable puppy.
Seems nice, but I doubt this was an altruistic move on his part. Gotta keep that population subjugated through its own stupidity and credulity. It reminds me of those photos of Hitler and Stalin with children, because, let’s be honest, Putin doesn’t care about children anymore than Obama does. They are little propaganda tools in the minds of these types of people.
Murderers can be nice, too! Still, nice pic of little girl and her new pup. I don’t hate Vladdie. I appreciate what he’s doing to ISIS, but don’t think he’s a guy that puts up with too much dissent. Not a guy I would want to have angry at me.
Every time Putin gives a girl an adorable puppy, he kills a journalist.
Ping to the doggie group.
If I wrote to Obama (ugh) d’ya think he’d send me a Golden Retriever?
I think if you got in Putin’s way he would kill you but there are very few truly utterly evil people most people are a blend of evil motivations and good ones I have no problem with him having read the letter it bringing him a smile and telling one of his underlings to get that girl a puppy.
Hitler and the Goebbels children pictures came to my mind, too. I was watching a documentary about Eva Braun the other night on You Tube. It was asking the question, among others, if Hitler was capable of love. I need to finish the video. I found it an interesting question. Can people that do heinous things to others be capable of affection and love for others? Hitler certainly loved his doggie, Blondie. :) I remember in the movie Downfall, the German people that Hitler claimed to have loved so much, well, in the movie, he was very condemning of them in the end. They were on their own and he felt they let him down and were the cause of the outcome.

Two cuties!
During Stalin’s time, Children in school were told in class to pray to Jesus for candy, and nothing happened. Then they were told to ask Comrade Stalin for candy, and candy came raining down from the ceiling.
I don’t think if you were even a cute little girl would it move Obama. Now if you were bringing suspicious looking devices to school, and undermining tradition, values, and authority, he’d probably give you A LOT of attention!
This is a wonderful story. Hopefully it portends a wonderful next year.
Happy New Year everyone!
Or, if I took bubble baths in jello, or whatever that woman was doing last year.
