In an interview with Charlie Rose, George Lucas spoke about everything from his and Disney’s branching vision to the deal itself. Lucas, who has always been protective of his series and even refers to them as his “kids,†hasn’t been looking back well on the deal with Disney (via Collider).

These comments by Lucas make me wonder if he’s miffed that movie goers like the new Star Wars better than his dreadful prequels.

I finally went to see Star Wars 7 last night , after all the crowds had had their fill . As expected ; a singularly boring re-hash of a theme model that once was so great , but now tired , disconnected and boring. Same silly sounds associated with the same silly characters and the same music scores , attempting the dramatic . I enjoyed the first several Star Wars movies and thought I’d like this one . I didn’t hate it , it was just long and boring. Another apocalyptic Hollywood special effects drama attempt. . But this one with tired appearances by some of the old stars , and they did not shine . It was painful to watch Carrie Fisher trundle around , no more the lithe Princess Leia ( who every man wanted to lay ) , now a rather doddering old matron, with too much makeup and tired ,deadpan lines . Zero excitement in her character . Then there is Harrison Ford’s reappearance as an aging , equally deadpan , Hans Solo . Yawn … The best part of his performance in the show was when his now arch evil son ( who they do not explain where he came from , or when , or how ) , the Darth Vader bad boy redux character , meets his dad ( Ford) on a catwalk above an techno abyss. They have a heartfelt conversation that goes something like this . †Come home son , Mom and I miss you ††But dad , I now serve the Supreme Leader ( or master) ††That’s ok son , you don’t need anyone but me ††Help me dad , I am so torn ††I will help you son , all you need to do is vote for Hillary and all will be well †They embrace , but while embracing , the evil son activates his light-saber and runs Solo through with it. Looking into his father’s dying eyes, he says †Dad , you always were such a fucking Liberal ! I have wanted to waste your ass for so long ! ††bye bye †and Harrison Ford drops in to the abyss . Hopefully that now is THE LAST we will see of him . ( unless he wants to play the part of Yoda’s reincarnation next ) . And there will be ‘ a next ‘ Star Wars 8, already announced for something like 2019 .
So yea, super boring Holly weird fantasy BS . I guess if you are a Stars Wars fanatic , or 12 years old , you might love it . I am neither .
With all that money, I never figured out why Lucas would not get rid of his Pizza the Hut body. At least the monstrous double chin, I don’t know what causes that, but it is the worst I have seen on anyone and I know some fatties.
I actually thought it was very good, but tastes differ...
