Virtually every post on this thread seems to assume that Trump is actually going to be banned, or is likely to be so. That's simply not going to happen, and it's extremely unlikely that there will even be a Parliamentsary debate in response to this petition (they aren't triggered automatically by 100,000 signatures - there are getouts).

As for British interference in U.S. affairs: surely this all started because a US presidential candidate very publicly commented on British internal affairs. Cameron would have been wiser not to respond, but it was entirely legitimate for him to so if he so chose.
