The crowd was so large that when Cruz spoke the Wilkses had to open the pool patio doors to accommodate about 100 guests who stood in 28 degree weather to listen to the senator.
Cruz allies said the two-day gathering, capping off with a rally where Cruz delivered his standard stump speech, followed by a performance from the Christian rock band The Newsboys, was an overwhelming success. By the end of the six-hour meeting Monday, dozens of the visitors lined up outside a closed room to tape video endorsements of the Cruz presidential bid. Some attended Super PAC and campaign fundraisers held Tuesday in Cisco that were timed to coincide with the fly-in.
The gathering could have been even larger. Mike Gonzalez, who leads the South Carolina Pastors Alliance, was disappointed that some of his fellow clergymen were not able to make it because bad weather caused flight cancellations.
However, when he arrived at the ranch he was stunned to see a crowd of about 300, "including many of the most prominent spiritual influencers in the country."
Those in attendance at the Monday sessions included prominent televangelists, such as John Hagee, pastor of the Cornerstone Church in San Antonio, and James Dobson, founder of the Focus on the Family organization. Richard Land, president of the Southern Evangelical Seminary and a longtime leader of the Southern Baptist Convention, was there, according to interviews with attendees, most of whom were not authorized to discuss the off-the-record session. They said that there were a number of Hispanic and African American clerics in the audience, including Gonzalez and Voddie Baucham, a well-known pastor in Texas.
"It was a very diverse group of national leaders who have significant standing," said David Barton, a Texas Republican author and activist...

Good
These hurt Cruz more than help. It further emphasizes that he is the mouth piece for donor money—crony capitalists and special interests. He cannot beat that rap against independent say-it-as-it-is Trump.
Hahahahaha!
Wow, 300! That’s Yuuuuuuuuuge!
Christians and those conservatives with a libertarian streak and or traditional values are enough to win the nomination....cannot be president unless you win the party nod
Ted Cruz huddles with faith leaders at ranch of super PAC donorIt sounds like there's going to be some big donations in the faith leader's future...And some more feed in the Cruz crony capitalist trough.
I thought they weren't supposed to talk to their PACs
Absolutely right.
Only wealthy people who can finance their own campaigns and have taken property by eminent domain should run for office.
Anyone who needs help is ineligible even if honorable.
Go rich guys!!!!!
Soros is running the country now and that’s great cause he’s wealthy and beholden to no one.

Trump to Faith leaders....perform that gay marriage!!!
Trump to Iowa crony capitalists...ethanol subsidies- I love IT!!!
Not quite what I am saying. A candidate looking for broad funding from citizenry is meaningful and over the last several election cycles we have seen several people pursue this route successfully. What we see in this election cycle is Cruz and others rushing to several donors, pandering to them, to get their money. They become owned by those few people and their special interests rather than being broadly funded.
All Hail Ceasaer Trumpagustus !
( not for those who don’t support Trump )
MAY HE DECLARE HIM SELF THE WINNER KING AND GOD !
Not to argue the points but Trump has never said, to be best of my recollection and reading, that religious leaders must perform homosexual marriages. And as for ethanol subsidies, these seem to be mainstream positions of both parties and not just now. Yes, it is corporate welfare, which is worthy of a discussion. But is now the right time? Is it best or first target? Cruz martyrs himself on this and, even if right, doesn’t win a single vote in Iowa or other ethanol states. How does his position help his campaign?
The good billionaire is Donald J. Trump. Only Trump spends his money on good.
Ted Cruz's billionaire donors are evil. They could never have patriotic intentions.
Those are the rules of a Trumptard.
Like my measly $120, sure.
Do you do anything else than try to tear Cruz down? Like say ACTUALLY promote your candidate? Because it doesn’t seem like you actually do?
I do both. And I also do not always agree with Trump. Lets have discussion instead of people saying my way or the highway and throwing out insults when someone shares something contrary or inconvenient?
you’re the one who claimed is owned by no one yet here he is allowing himself to be owned by the cronies who benefit from ethanol subsidies just so he can get their vote.
based on what Trump said about the Kim Davis case, I can infer that same opinion onto pastors who perform marriages.
Cruz is telling it like it is on ethanol. I thought Trump supporters liked that kind of honesty!!!
It is a foot path. I am guessing this is part of the get out the 4-5 million who sat home in 2012. A huge swath from all over with possible sway on their congregations and cohorts. Will make excellent get out the vote possible I am guessing.
But don’t underestimate Teddie. This is only part of his plan and it seems to be progressing very nicely.
