That is a personal thing we may never know, but she took “confessing one’s sins one to another” to a level few ever have the courage to do.

As for me, I will take her contrition on face value. God knows the truth and I will trust He will use this for the good of His kingdom.

It’s difficult to imagine her behaving as she did without that. It would make no sense. Christendom did not step forward to atone for her sin. Jesus did; and yet she did oppose Christendom too and now she knows better. I think we can nitpick (certainly I can) when not all details are spelled out to our face and yet what we do see is stunningly genuine in form.

I’d say it looks like she gratefully accepted the gift of Jesus’ apology to the Father for her sins. And I do not know who could NOT weep at the sight.
