“He’s not running to be president of the Senate, he’s running to be president of the United States,” said Rep. Michael Burgess (R-Texas). “The fact that he is at odds with members of the institution - that’s a badge of honor, that’s a plus sign.”
Burgess needs to get off his a$$, and quit being a backbencher. His ratings on Conservative Review continue to decline.
Cruz makes it plain that senators *can* stand on principle and make a difference. Cruz’s less ethical colleagues prefer to have their constituents think this is not possible inside the Beltway. It’s much more lucrative to just go with the flow.
