Ever since California's law to protect the rights of transgender students went into effect two years ago, opponents have tried to whip up fear and confusion about what they see as the scary new bathroom rules, under which they say that any child of any gender may wander into any old restroom whenever they want. Voters, however, aren't buying it. For the second time, backers of a ballot initiative to overturn the law have failed to gather enough signatures to qualify for the ballot. It's time they gave up the fight.
Lawmakers in 2013 passed the School Success and Opportunity Act, which was billed as a groundbreaking change for transgender rights, but really just clarified existing anti-discrimination policies in the state education code that were not always understood or followed. The law made it clear that transgender students may use the bathrooms and locker rooms — and can participate on the sports teams — that correspond to the gender with which they identify. The law's goal was to accommodate children born male or female, but who identify differently. It also addressed delicate issues transgender students confront daily, and eliminated the confusion and discomfort that might arise if, say, a teen who identifies and dresses as a girl was forced to use the boys' bathroom.

Unfortunately, there is a dark side to it. The ultimate implication of diversity is that all realities, and all experiences, and all cultures are equally valid. But that is the same as saying they are all equally invalid, which basically means that your prized individuality is actually of no moment, because by the tenets of diversity, you are no more important than anyone else.
Its a marxist philosophy, and like all marxist thinking it values equality above all else. That wouldnt be so bad, except that it proposes to achieve that equality by dragging everyone down to the same level.

The heart of the matter is that the cultural-left worldview posits that humans are a blank-slate and that all differences are merely socially constructed. Gender, they say, is socially constructed, a figment of our minds. This is nonsense, as the case of David Reimer shows, but they believe it.
Further, they believe that since reality is subjective, and socially constructed, the human will should reign supreme, being unfettered by religious conviction, cultural tradition, or even nature itself. It matters little that men have xy chromosomes and women xx, or that only biological women can give birth or menstruate - reality is socially constructed, and those things believe they have the right to decide things, so why pay them heed?
Thus, we have this social nihilism, in which our subjective mind is said to create reality.
Since the human will can not be rightfully opposed - even when defying nature, says the cultural left, government must secure whatever anyone dares to desire or want.
What’s left in this tradition-less, secular, blank-slate world is a “will to power” in which each side struggles for the machinery of the state to impose their will upon the other and secure their desires.
Thus, we get the Justice Department forcing local schools who refuse to recognize males who think they are females or vice-versa as anything other than who they actually are - to recognize that subjective perception and call it reality. We also get this pathetic call for surrender.

You are what you are, your gender is not just your parts, but your chromosomes, and bone structure, etc.., that is what you learn in biology and sex ed, you cannot change what you are, accept it.

The other idiocy is the transgendered (mentally ill men, mostly) who announce that with this change, they are lesbians.
So not only are they mentally ill, and demanding the right to use the women’s bathroom before allowed surgery to remove the penis or don’t want to make that commitment, but these “transgendered lesbians” are also sexually attracted to women.
I would have less issue sharing the women’s bathroom with a homosexual man than a transgendered freak. And I’ve had to share the bathroom with the mentally ill gender dysphoric man.
