Just to clarify...if you re-read my post, I stated that Jesus is our intercessor.....this is how miscommunication occurs.
And if you re-read, James 5:16...it tells us that we need to confess our sins to one another, be it a priest or be it a friend.....but a priest is definitely not an intercessor.
A priest has legal protection for confession......a friend does not.
This is actually the point of a very interesting discussion.
But just FYI....high church Methodists do NOT believe in confession of sins to anyone and especially NOT to some priest; we go straight to GOD, when we want to chat with the highest of high, GOD ALMIGHTY !
