“A vast amount of catholic art portrays men becoming angels, and portrays Peter standing at a gate with wings.”
If we’re even going to consider anything about a vast amount of Catholic art, when did “Catholic art” begin?
“There is also a considerable amount that portrays female angels, which the word of God denies...”
There are no female angels, and there are no male angels. Only beings with a body can be male or female. Angels do not have bodies.
“...and human looking angels in ‘heaven.’”
Manifestations of angelic beings have been in various ways; many times in human form, many times as having wings. Artistic representations have followed suit.
Painted frescoes on the walls of catacombs and meeting houses of the earliest persecuted Chritians by the Romans are the first examples of Catholic art.
