Trump refuses to take shot at Cruz
The Hill ^ | 12/27/15 | Bradford Richardson

Republican primary front-runner Donald Trump in an interview broadcast Sunday refused to escalate his feud with Sen. Ted Cruz (R-Texas).

When asked about his chief political rival during an interview with ABC News's Jon Karl, the businessman said Cruz, who has recently taken the lead in Iowa, was a "nice guy."

"He is a very nice guy, he has been very respectful," Trump said.

Trump also said when he entered the presidential race, he had no idea he would sustain such a dramatic lead over his competitors, ABC News reported.

"It's a very, very big lead, so I didn't think that we would have that," he said.

The real estate mogul added that it will be easier to beat Democratic front runner Hillary Clinton in a general election than to win the Republican nomination.

"I am winning. I am beating everybody and, in my opinion, beating Hillary is easier than beating these people," he said of his Republican adversaries, according to ABC News.

Trump has been leading polls in the Republican primary race nationally for more than five months, although he was briefly overtaken by retired neurosurgeon Ben Carson in November, according to a RealClearPolitics Average of polls.

Cruz, however, currently holds a slim lead...

It would be nice if those "3rd grade Trumpkins" who post the negative hit pieces on Ted--- as well as the more overzealous Cruz supporters-- would take note.

As I'm certain Ted told Trump in their meetings months ago, (before any polls) their respective supporters would amass a new majority coalition.

Let the best man win-- and afterwards, shake hands and keep the coalition together.

I don’t believe Cruz made a deal with him. If you can prove that I will vote for Rubio.

It would also be nice if those third rate Cruz crumbs would also take note. It goes both ways!

Yes. Name-calling is always civil.

That’s all I can say. It’s all I got out of your nasty comment

Cruz won’t attack Trump because he said he wouldn’t. Trump won’t attack Cruz because it would be political suicide.

Trump refuses to take shot at Cruz

Trump has in the past and will again in the future, as Trump continues to close in on him.

You've got good company in that regard, the MSM, both parties establishment and the Cheap-Labor-Express. Your true colors are showing.

Press 1 for Trump press 2 for status quo.

“I don’t believe Cruz made a deal with him”

Did you watch the last debate?

Trump said that he and Cruz had private talks a few days before.

It’s obvious that they have some kind of backroom deal.

Trump attacked and destroyed every other candidate but spared Cruz. Why do you think that is?

Trump may have already offered the VP spot to Cruz and Cruz may have already accepted it.

So if it’s Hillary or Trump, you’re not voting?

I can understand because I feel somewhat like you with a lot of candidates but Trump isn’t one of them. The GOPe has made it to where I won’t vote republican every time. They don’t have my certain vote anymore.

I will vote for Trump 1000 times (like a democrat) before I would allow Hillary to get into office. Trump may not be right on everything but he is on immigration, abortion (currently), trade, muslim refugees, the VA, etc. Hillary is wrong on everything.

Cruz said he questioned Trump’s judgment. That’s quite a hit and it was the first hit between them.

Cruz did not retract it at the debate, as much as people like to think he did

Cruz is good on most issues and has a track record. But he was never going to beat the media-adored dem candidate. Certainly not Hilary

Trump comes along and is way out ahead, sensible enough to accept Cruz into the fold

Cruz slams him

All I can ever say, especially after Chris’s dinner talk with otherwise sensible people is what do people think? Do they think Trump is not going to win? Really?
