The motive and details of the operation were outlined in a memorandum compiled by the former FSB spy: âIn order to accomplish all these aims and to get Western consent to fighting Islamic State (which was, essentially, official support for keeping the Assad regime in power), the Kremlin desperately needed the kind of justification which would generate worldwide attention and full international sympathy and approval for military action.â

I call BS. Maybe 9/11 was done by US government because this is their nature for foreign policy
The headline makes no sense..
It should be ACCUSES. Unfortunately the system did not register this word. I can’t update it. I apologise.
Think about Litvinenko allegations when he first said that it was Putin and FSB who run its own operation.
Nobody believed Livinenko until it was too late...
The GRU maybe, FSB nope -> BS
This scenario is similar to the plot in Red Storm Rising, where the Soviets staged a terrorist attack as a pretext to invade West Germany..
This is exactly what he said. Just read the article. But he is from FSB who has a source in GRU.
Bkmrk.
US National Insecurity: The Art Of Blaming Russia (For Everything)

Exactly. i know obama has a hard time saying it but it isn’t that hard to say islamic terrorists. That is who is responsible for the deaths of those innocent civilians.
It’s not beyond the realm of possibility.
Zero hedge is a good source on certain topic from the area of economy. Unfortunately if it comes to foreign politics ZH seems to follow “economic guru” Mr. Kaiser from Russia Today, Mr. Patrick Buchanan and other useful idiots. I should say “very, very” useful idiots from Kremlin’s point of view.
If we’re going to believe this guy, why wouldn’t we believe the allegations made by Edward Snowden?
One person’s patriot is another person’s turncoat.
It is good to know, think and discuss. I am not forcing anyone to believe in it. I have just provided link. And yea, I have been thinking about such a possibility... It is not unimaginable knowing what it was already done by Kremlin. This list is very long...
Power corrupts, and absolute power corrupts absolutely. We have heard that many times, and the principle applies to ALL governments that expand their power continuously. The entire planet is moving towards a total authoritarian state, some areas faster than others. More than ever before, we have to “question authority” because our God given rights and liberties are under assault from ALL directions.
There’s two side to every story:
Not surprisingly, the Russians have furiously dismissed the claims by their former spy. ‘This theory about the plane being deliberately blown up on Putin’s orders can only come from someone with a sick mind who is intent on revenge,’ snorted one Russian intelligence source.
‘Look at Karpichkov’s background — he has fallen out with all his old sponsors whether in Moscow, Riga or London, and probably the CIA, too. No one trusts him, and he invents far-fetched nonsense. Linking it to the apartment block explosions — well, these were also absurd claims for which no proof was ever produced.’
But if it suits your agenda you’ll believe anything.
Wonder how many times this conspiracy theory will be posted.
BULL! I`m far more likely to believe that koranimals did that than The Kremlin. Next I suppose this guy is going to say Putin has been murdering Christians and other ‘infidels’ across the ME, or dropping arms to these unicorn groups.
In 2002 Russians tried to discredit Litvinenko with the same claim. Yes, Litvinenko was also owed by FSB not a small money. Theft is probably the least problem of Kremlin’s regime.
So it is worthy to think twice or maybe more...
I do not agree generally with Russian’s claims on anything. I have reservation to comments in media as well.
Karpichkov brought important info on Russian regime - historic and current information. There was an attempt on his life this is why he is under protection and changed name.
You are obviously free to put your faith in Moscow. if you reject an evidence which Litvinenko provided, then I am not sure what other evidence can convince you. Maybe one Putin will volunteer and tell you “I did it”. But I am not sure...
“This is exactly what he said. Just read the article. But he is from FSB who has a source in GRU”
Which make the whole thing extremely dubious, to say the least. It might be true, or it might not - if it is true, then some rival for Putin’s job is making a tentative move - running it up the flagpole to see who reacts and how.
Once the allegation is made, the story becomes just so much filler. Its the allegation which counts. Soviet politics at work and play ... hard to change the spots and all.
