Neil deGrasse Tyson made the decision a long time ago to be a sort of media cheerleader for science instead of an actual scientist, and although he isnât a great communicator, it was the right decision because he was unlikely ever to trouble the Nobel committee. Also, he is stupid and his politics are dumb.
Tyson, whom liberals love because they are racists who canât believe a black guy could be smart enough to be a scientist and so spontaneously ejaculate and soil themselves every time they see him on TV, hasnât published anything of note for years. The advantage of being a celebrity scientist is that you donât actually have to do any science. Youâre exempted from the usual âpublish or perishâ rules.
Even when he was making a go of being a proper academic, Tyson didnât exactly have the most glittering record. He didnât get the PhD he was studying for at the University of Texas and had to go elsewhere for his qualification. Obviously, rather than take responsibility for his academic performance, Tyson has blamed racism. In reality, Tyson was playing in bands and appearing on stage instead of completing essays. Typical science PhD students are at any given time either studying, teaching or sleeping.

I never before heard of this fellow.
You ain’t?
I admit that I only "stumbled" across him a few years ago, in random YouTube clips.
But whereas I sincerely admired and respected Carl Sagan (deGrasse's putative forerunner) - whose politics, I confess, are entirely unknown to me - deGrasse seems like a fake and/or a blowhard.
Regards,
Oh, You mean Moo Yiannopoulos? Changed his name from Baa.
Wasn’t Sagan white?
Carl Sagan started well. but as the years went by, he moved further into ostrich territory favoring anything the left was in love with. DeGrasse is simply picking up where Sagan left off on the downhill side into pseudo-scientific ignominy.
Are you taking issue with my describing DeGrasse as having Sagan as a "putative forerunner?" I did not mean that in the literal, genetic sense.
Rather, I meant it in the sense that DeGrasse appears to have inherited Sagan's "mantle" as the "public face of serious but entertaining science."
But, in my estimation, DeGrasse totally lacks Sagan's gravitas, humility, and credibility.
Towards the end, Sagan may have been a showman, but DeGrasse is more like a huckster.
Regards,
Can’t we just Neil as an entertainer?
I got what you were saying, FWIW.
.......see...... (insert)
If I have to watch a black “scientist”, I prefer Morgan.
This affirmative action “scientist” is on an intellectual par with “Bill the Science Guy.”
It is impossible to watch a TV science show without seeing either Tyson, Bill Nye or Michio Kaku (wannabe Einstein hairdo with a comb briefly run through it).
Larry, Moe & Curly
Sagan was the Joel Osteen of Science.
Richard Attenborough is the Chronkite/Rather/Brokow of nature films.
Bah, humbug!

I'm not familiar with any scientific work he's ever performed. Before celebrity he ran a planetarium somewhere. Nowadays he's mostly a Twitter personality.
He did wash out at UT, but later obtained his doctorate in Astrphysics from Columbia.
And Yiannopolous is qualified to call Tyson, or any other scientist, stupid because....?
Love it. I suspected Tyson was just a used car salesman.
