Fast forward 20 years later, well before I heard of something called the internet, my wife and I stayed at a Bed & Breakfast in Ferndale, CA where we met a left-wing couple who piously bashed those who didn't believe in global warming. I'm assuming they thought we were birds of a feather. I still remember my response to this day. I simply said virtually word for word what I said in a previous post and have been saying since.
I purposely used the phrase "the coming ice age" because I remember that issue of TIME magazing.
I can understand why TIME magazine would want to revise its own history to send that issue down the memory hole but I won't comply.
Believe what thou wilt. I remember it.
Indeed. along with the Time cover you posted, I have pictures of two similar Time magazine front covers:
That Time cover is fake, and the left uses it to discredit AGW skeptics.
The global cooling scare/scam of that era was definitely real.
It would have been reasonable for Time to have used that cover, but they did not.
The cover is fake. The story is real, and was printed in the 24 June 1974 issue of Time on page 86. See it here: http://time.com/vault/issue/1974-06-24/page/106/
I remember it too, not because I read Time Magazine, but because it was on the evening news and we discussed it at school.
