A young, agrarian, America became an industrial giant by imposing tariffs on imports. It is a fact. It is history. It would work again and that is why the parasites in D.C. Oppose it so vehemently.
Moreover the Free Traitors love the income tax. It finances the socialism that allows them to off shore labor without causing massive rioting and unrest here.
No, the income tax was passed here in the Civil War, then another was passed in 1894 to lower tariffs. Our industrial capacity relative to other countries was because of our lower taxes and regulations, rather than any import tariff. We did more trade amongst ourselves because our lower internal taxes and regulations contributed to a much-higher technological innovation rate then relative to other countries. It could happen again. We enjoyed this advantage throughout the low-income tax period of 1894 to Lyndon Johnson's socialism. So the preference of the income tax over tariffs was no detriment to trade, jobs, and prosperity. When liberals went to progressive taxation, excessive regulatory policy, and excessive environmentalism, then we began to decline.
