Because it is not about Socialist vs. Capitalist any more. It is about Elitist vs. Populist.

Most of his positions look to be Populist. Somewhere along the way he appears to have rejected the Elitism side of politics. I suppose once you get F.U. Money, you are freed from some of the shackles of the establishment -- and he most definitely has F.U. Money.

The political battleground has changed drastically in the last 20-30 years. It is now Elitist vs. Populist. That is why you see so many Republicans acting so inexplicably oddly. It is also why Trump is so popular, with crossover appeal.

The Elitists have very VERY bad plans for us. Erasure of nations, removal of all defensive weaponry from the populace, thought-control (literally), and gross depopulation (probably on the birth side, I think they learned from Hitler / Stalin / Pol Pot how bad it goes on the other side).

I freely admit I could be wrong. This could be the best acting job since Heath Ledger's "Joker". This is a bit of a dice-throw for me. While I would prefer Cruz, Trump has a large lead. So I will toss the dice on Trump. Best to toss the dice, than to submit to the Globalist/Elitist world paradigm.

The thing that informs me that it is likely not an act, is the response of the Elitists. They threw Jeb, Rubio, and Carson at us. They tried to smear Trump in every way. They are planning to split us with Cruz by inflating his polls.

Those are not the actions of a people who want Trump to be the nominee.

You are absolutely correct on every point.
We elected so called conservatives and they threw in with the Democrats to give Obama every thing he wanted. Our country has been sold down the drain for the One World Order Utopia. Our sovereignty is being traded away for nothing in return. The list goes on, but the ONLY person who just might turn this ship of death around is Trump. He’s the only one who can’t be bought. Everybody else is just more of the same old, same old, including Cruz. Cruz voted the wrong way, then when it was too late voted the reverse. He is just another politician beholding to his money men and his wife’s attachment to Goldman Sachs doesn’t help the situation.
I expect the Cruz supporters by and large to stay home pouting and not vote for Trump so that the Establishment can continue to destroy America.

“Because it is not about Socialist vs. Capitalist any more.”

Speak for yourself. Until the last Marxist is pushing up daisies, it’s always going to be about that for me.

Voting for Trump is taking the red pill a la The Matrix.

So many times we have taken the blue pill (Paul Ryan as Speaker, Mitt/McCain/Bush as Presidential candidates, Bush Sr. as Vice-President, no real government shutdowns, no pushback on Obamacare not even enforcing its own provisions, etc.)

America needs to take the red pill for once.

Trump is the Red Pill.

+1, Laz.

These are the same people who silently applauded Thad Cochrane, and the tactics he used to defeat Chris McDaniel. These are the same people who have turned Atlas Shrugged into nonfiction.

Whatever I do for the remainder of my life, it will be focused on what's best for my children and grandchild. I think it was mostly there before, but that's where the laser beam is now pointed.

Now that the wealth has gravitated to crony capitalists, government bureaucrats, entertainers, and professional athletes, all who produce little for the amount of the compensation they receive. I'm beyond the well known, and established reasons for limiting taxes. Now, if you want to lay a 90% marginal rate on incomes over a million, I don't give a flip. Crony capitalists are too busy lobbying for H-1B visas to drive down the cost of their labor...eff them!

Laz you say it’s not about Socialists versus capitalists anymore....it’s about elitists versus populists.

Well there’s some truth to that, but it begs two very difficult questions for you. A: SHOULD it be about this and B: how do you reconcile the liberal tenants of populism, which are far more prevalent in populism than is conservatism. And also, is an answer a man that has played the insider elite game for his own personal enrichment, and played the seamiest side of the bankruptcy gain in ways that really hurt smaller businesses? I don’t think you can smooth all this over...even based on your own assumptions.

When it comes to political deal making tossing favors to big business, this is not true. Trump loves crony capitalism.

I didn’t breeze right past this; I didn’t have the chance to respond yet. And actually, I think your analysis is quite on.
