I guess I’d be all for these if there was a lock on the front door and it was up on skid jacks where a yard loader could put them on a semi to the nearest port for trans shipment home.

Looks like those “safe” refugee shipping crates would burn easily as well.
I guess fires would be a concern, considering that shelter in Germany that was burned out recently, probably by refugees who weren’t happy with the low quality of their accommodations.

I have attempted to save money by utilizing particle board in an outdoor project and no matter HOW much paint and waterseal I use .. surfaces AND edges .... weather gets in and deteriorates the glue holding the stuff together
After all the protective coating, I was close to the cost of impregnated plywood, anyway
These animals can't keep from destroying a car just driving it and you expect a door to stay on those hinges overnight ?
HAH !

It appeared from the article to me at least that these structures are intended to be used INSIDE a large building like a gym or heated warehouse or something.

Oerlikon, a notable name in armaments. Sure they could find something in their inventory to deal with the real problem at hand.

I think they’re facilitating “cell” development. It’s hard to foster a segregated and hierarchically separated cell cabal if all the participants are in one big room together.
Spread them out, isolate them and allow individual plans to develop. :)

Flammability issues aside, I'd probably prefer the IKEA shack. One concern for me is any sort of chemical odor from the plastic. I wonder if there's a chemical smell in the wood chip shack due to the glue.
Another article concerning the rejected IKEA shack , which has been used in Ethiopia.
