I disagree. Most conservatives that I know won’t vote for Trump should he win the primaries because there if very little difference between Trump and Hillary. We’re tired of holding our nose and voting. Even Trump’s immigration stance has changed from being pro-immigration to anti-immigration over the last 3 or 4 years. All of Trump’s other policies are extremely liberal which will turn off most conservatives. More and more will come out over time and that is why Trump is the only main candidate that isn’t beating Hillary in the polls.
Although, pro-Trump supporters claim that Trump is not beholden to anyone since he isn’t taking donations, anyone with half a brain knows that is not true. Trump is a Clinton friend and financially supported the Clintons and many other democrats over the years in order to get favors and conduct his business. He didn’t make billions being the nice, honest guy. He made billions by screwing over little guys and being supported by those democrats that he funded. Now those that he funded in return for business preferences over the last 30 years do have influence on him. Unfortunately, that means he is being influenced more by liberals than conservatives. Cruz may have donors, but most of his funds are small donations, all from conservative donors.
I don’t see that.
Anyway, 100% conservative support doesn’t win an election.
Let’s hope Cruz can win over those moderates. He’s a persuasive guy with a lot of money so he has a good chance at it.
Well said.
