File this under: Imagine what would have happened if the same was done to Obama's daughters?
The Washington Post, now America's largest newspaper, published a cartoon Tuesday afternoon by Ann Telnaes portraying the young daughters of GOP presidential candidate Ted Cruz as monkeys being walked or controlled by Santa Claus. Here it is:
Reaction:
Classy. @washingtonpost makes fun of my girls. Stick w/ attacking me--Caroline & Catherine are out of your league. https://t.co/N61ys6z8w1— Ted Cruz (@tedcruz) December 22, 2015
Wash Post cartoon featuring @tedcruz's children is disgusting. The Post saying the kids are "fair game" is even worse.— Marco Rubio (@marcorubio) December 23, 2015
Here is the WaPo link because I bet they take it down pretty damn quick https://t.co/JlAJ7dItzH— Amanda Carpenter (@amandacarpenter) December 22, 2015
WAPO Editor Fred Hiatt says he didn't see the cartoon before it was published and it has since been taken down along with a justification provided by Telnaes about why she targeted Cruz' children. Twitchy grabbed a screenshot.
The update from Hiatt:
Editor's note from Fred Hiatt: It's generally been the policy of our editorial section to leave children out of it. I failed to look at this cartoon before it was published. I understand why Ann thought an exception to the policy was warranted in this case, but I do not agree.
This type of depiction and justification would have never come close to acceptable for the Obama girls and it shouldn't be. Leave the kids alone media, no matter how much you hate their parents.
Think of the uproar, on every MSM channel, if that exact cartoon had been applied to Sasha and Malia. “Oh, but that would be different.” No it wouldn’t.
Thanks Ann!
You schlonged yourself and helped Ted.
Now reprint the one you drew of Ted in a Mexican sombrero.
There's the quote right there: he's throwing the cartoonist under the bus for his failure of his job.
In the very next breath, he ALSO says:
I understand why Ann thought an exception to the policy was warranted in this case, but I do not agree.
While it looks like further butt-coverage, it translates as "I agree with why she did it."
BTTT
Yours: “Why can’t these left-wing idiots engage their brain before making fools of themselves “
mine: yes, but you’re assuming fact not in evidence, my friend
Photoshop Obama’s head on there and see what happens
what’s funny about this is that President Harry S. Truman didn’t like it...and said so quite decisively too... when the media criticized his daugther’s piano playing....leave the kids out of it!!!
and now I ramble a bit:
(daughter went on to be an accomplished singer, as I recall)
Truman was known for some wonderfully pithy quotes (including some against Republicans, yes I know, like..’Republicans believe in the minimum wage, the more minimum the better”
but here’s a Truman quote I will always remember and cherish....
“âMy choice early in life was either to be a piano player in a whorehouse or a politician. And to tell the truth, thereâs hardly any difference.â -— President Harry S. Truman
Donald Trump tweeted:
Donald J. Trump @realDonaldTrump
The @washingtonpost, which is the lobbyist (power) for not imposing taxes on #Amazon, today did a nasty cartoon attacking @tedcruz kids. Bad”
Go Trump/Cruz!
Believe she was an author and quite successful not like Hillary successful. Margaret wrote and earned her money. Granny sold her name for a big upfront fee and no sales.
(daughter went on to be an accomplished singer, as I recall)
Actually, many of us don't know that Truman's daughter later changed her name to Judy Garland and had quite a career as a singer and actress.
I don’t believe the leftists’ apologies. They knew what they were doing, and did it anyway.
Hah — perfect.
yes but today isn’t 1 April
*(Judy Garland was born Frances Ethel Gumm and I loved her, too)
here is Margaret Truman singing, however...see what you think
its not quite Bluebirds can Fly, but still you may like it

Waiting for this d!ckhead to do a cartoon with Chelsea and the grandchildren.
They did the same thing with Sarah Palin’s kids.
