Franklin Graham: 'I Have Resigned From the Republican Party'
Newsmax ^ | 12-13-15 | Todd Beamon

Franklin Graham has resigned from the Republican Party and become an independent, declaring that "I have no hope in the Republican Party, the Democratic Party, or tea party to do what is best for America.

"Unless more godly men and women get in this process and change this wicked system, our country is in for trouble," Graham, 63, wrote on Facebook.

Graham called on "Christians, even pastors, across the country to pray about running for office where they can have an impact.

"We need mayors, country commissioners, city council members, school board members who will uphold biblical values."

The budget deal was widely slammed by Republicans and conservatives last week, who charged congressional leaders — including new House Speaker Paul Ryan — with "betrayal" for putting through a spending plan that financed many of President Barack Obama's programs.

Besides Planned Parenthood, other Obama efforts that were fully financed under the deal were Obamacare, sanctuary cities, climate change, refugee resettlement programs — and well as an increase in foreign worker visas.

"It is as though Nancy Pelosi is still running the House and Harry Reid is still running the Senate," radio talk-show host Rush Limbaugh charged on Friday. He was referring to the Democratic leaders of the House and Senate.

"'Betrayed' is not even the word here," he said.

"'Betrayed' is not even the word here," he said.

Precisely right.

Liars too. They broke their campaign promises.

It’s what John Adams and George Washington warned us about: parties will eventually destroy the best governmental system ever devised.

“In many states, if you’re not a Republican, you can’t vote in Republican primaries”

In NC you can; I’m registered “unaffiliated”.

Voting in Republican primaries flags my voting record and always generates years of junk mailings (soliciting money) from the local Republican organizations.

Franklin should have thought of that back in 2012 when he backed the ungodly and GOPe candidate Mitt Romney. Most of us left the GOP then.

Frankly, Franklin seems to be a bit wooden in approach compared with his famous dad Billy.

The Lord can use even this, a wooden gospel is better than no gospel, but it’s up to Franklin how far he actually goes with the Lord.

When looking at Old Testament parallels, I believe it is wise to remember that this was a teaching phase to mankind, when the meaning of Christ had not yet been presented on the blackboard, as it were. The parallel here might be better taken as the “land” of American Christendom as a whole. It needs to understand where love fits in God’s plan, because the basic eternal commands are to accept God’s love and return it to God both directly and through your neighbors. And love in turn was shown on the Cross.

I could soapbox all day but that would be ridiculous. I have other stuff to do. Ciao, and God bless you all.

Me too. The minute there is a national Conservative or Tea Party, i’m gone, but right now our only hope is to “primary” some of these ba$tards.

Thanks for that.

Also, maybe Rev Graham’s gesture will wake more up to the truth of what their government has come to represent.

There is some truth to that but there is another principle reason and it is far more profound: As a nation, the majority has turned its back on God and His ways. Thus, they have rejected His protection. The consequences of this are only BEGINNING to be felt.

There is always hope, however. I fully believe that God will use all of this to finally wake us up...though we are in for far more terrifying consequences before that “wake up” is fully realized.

that may be true. But for an evangelist, it seems that he is compelled by the Word of God to make this public statement

Well... he’s right. Only a myopic fool would think any politician or political party is going to turn this rebellious society around before it reaches the fast-approaching cliff. There is solid evidence that the Scriptures are indeed the message of God Himself, and if you believe that, note the things He clearly states are “abominations” that He hates: Killing innocent children at the alter of convenience (Molech worship), homosexuality, and (gasp) divorce.

We don’t have to guess what comes next.

Yeah, yeah, go ahead and quit while the going gets tough. Got a better way to fight a truly evil Democrat Party than with another established party? No, then sit down and shut your whiny piehole.

This Omnibus Budget deal was an unconditional surrender by the GOP leadership in all ways including the huge moral issue of giving another half billion dollars to murder babies and sell their parts - a horrifying practice made abundantly plain shortly before this monstrous "deal" was struck. It was nothing less than a sinful sellout of America to the forces of evil.

We are now funding our own destruction in a bipartisan way. I fear God's judgment of this country is now taking place and it will be awful to be a part of.

After Trump’s elected we should consider forming a new party.
