True Grit was one of the only movies where I liked both the original and the remake about equally.

They were quite different from each other, but in good ways.

I really liked Jeff Bridges’ portrayal of Rooster Cogburn.

Both movies are very good.

I read the book as a teen and just about chewed my nails off when the girl was stuck in the snakes’ den. One of the scariest reads ever. :)
