Our restaurant general manager and two franchisee operators spoke with law enforcement officials on several occasions before May 17th. Contrary to what is being widely reported, as best as we can determine at this time, no one from law enforcement ever told them to cancel the Sunday patio reservation.

That’s a bad link, but I found the story you’re quoting. Funny, it also includes this information that you left out:

“The franchisee’s statement, issued late in the day, also conflicts with a statement made by Twin Peaks corporate made earlier, that the on site operator was told of law enforcement’s concerns and gave “assurances” that appropriate security measures had been taken.”

So it seems Waco PD and Twin Peaks corporate are telling the same story, while the franchisee (who would be most directly liable in a lawsuit) is the one telling a story nobody else agrees with.
