Police ID suspect in deadly car rampage as 24-year-old homeless woman

A 24-year-old homeless woman who cops said had been living in her car with her 3-year-old daughter in Las Vegas for about a week was charged Monday in the automobile rampage that killed one and wounded at least 35 others Sunday night.

Lakeisha N. Holloway appeared “stoic” when cops encountered her soon after the 1996 Oldsmobile sedan she was driving plowed into a crowd on the Las Vegas Strip multiple times – all while a young child was sitting in the backseat.

Authorities said Sunday they “know this was not an act of terrorism,” though Lombardo did leave some wiggle room on Monday.

“As of now we do not believe it to be an act of terrorism,” he said, noting that officials were not “100 percent ruling out the possibility” and are working with the FBI.

“The act is going to be very hard to explain at face value,” said Lombardo, who reiterated that whatever the ultimate classification, cops believe the carnage was “an intentional act.”

Government speak for THIS WAS TERRORISM.

They know the motive and are just keeping it hidden for political reasons....which have nothing to do with keeping America safe from evil. Besides this was a local murder, no need to "work with the FBI" unless it was terrorism. You are supposed to be too dumb to think this through.

Washington treated his slaves better than most. He made sure they had a set of new clothes, he kept families together, he let them travel around by themselves and if any of his slaves wanted to marry someone else’s slaves, he would buy them if he could.

Washington recognized that slavery was wrong and wanted to free his slaves but didn’t see how it could be done. Like a lot of the founder’s he realized that slavery was not economical. More work could be done more cheaply by hiring Scottish and Irish immigrants. He thought it would eventually die out but didn’t take into account how slaves were used as collateral.

Most plantation owners mortgaged their slaves for cash when they didn’t have sufficient income. In 1860, the south held mortgages of $6 billion on their slaves. That’s in 1860 dollars. Since no one had ever outlawed slavery before or during Washington’s lifetime, he really didn’t know how it could be achieved. Almost all the other founders had the same problem.

I had exactly zero knowledge or even any idea about a “mortgage” issue concerning slavery. I will have to look that one up.

But it does add up one more hit on slavery from a Biblical point of view. The Bible poke of how the Jews should treat slaves and the South did not in any way follow those rules. The preachers who supported slavery using “Biblical” texts had a lot to answer to God for.

My personal belief is that the civil war was our particular punishment for those actions. And BLM is our punishment for letting the Democrats get away with the KKK and segregation. But I digress.

We probably have 6-7 Hispanic families at our primary school & I have definitely noticed that the kids are very well behaved & work hard. We took a trip to the zoo & a Hispanic boy had both parents go. They were very subtle about it, but I caught the looks on their faces as they witnessed some kids acting awful. Like they could not believe kids could be so ill behaved. I definitely think there’s some jealousy going on.

I teach in a mostly black school & they are not fond of Hispanics. It seems to run both ways.

I teach in a mostly Hispanic school and, while at the middle school level, some of our lowest-achieving boys had a tendency to mutter "fried chicken!" at any black kid going by, for the most part, Hispanic kids treat black kids pretty well as far as I can see. The same might not hold true when the numbers are reversed.

We have a mix here; many hard=working traditional families, as well as some gibsmedats that are here for the freebies. None seem to have any interest in mixing with American blacks, though they are quite comfortable with black Hispanics.
