uring the debate, Paul suggested that Christie was the guy who would likely start World War III, reminding the audience about the âBridgegateâ scandal that occurred under his administration.
On ABCâs This Week, Christie dismissed Paulâs comments as âcommentary from a desperate candidate on the last legs of his campaign.â
âHe was flailing away at everybody on that stage,â Christie continued, pointing out that Governor Bobby Jindal had followed the same strategy in the undercard debate.

Rand should take out The Rube on Rand’s way out the door.
Most of Rand’s 2-3% will go to Ted Cruz, who has effectively co-opted most of Rand’s libertarian positions (NSA, etc).
While Christie is still in single digits, I’ve noticed that he is gaining in most polls ... up to as high as 9%.
I sincerely hope that he remains in single digits.
MSM & GOPe, plus Fox News continue to try to “sell him” as an alternative candidate ... experienced, an outsider, a straight talker, a conservative and a fighter.
Young Rand seemed to have very good prospects but then he sounded a lot like his Daddy on defense and foreign relations issues. That struck him right off our list. No way
Fox News is out to get the non-establishment and they are angry. Thought Dana Perino was going to fall off her chair last week.
Christie seems to be doing very well in New Hampshire. Would not be surprised to see him finish third there (behind Trump and Cruz).
The reason Rand tanked is that he tried to be all things to all people. Half the time, he tries to sound like a libertarian purist (like his father), the other half of the time he just repeats GOP boilerplate. So rather than combining his father’s base of support with more mainstream Republicans, he simply alienated both sides.
I hope that he does stay in the race, however. All of the votes going to him (and to Carly, Jeb, and Kasich) would otherwise be in Rubio's pocket, pushing Rubio well ahead of Cruz and not too far behind Trump.
What makes you think Christie’s support, (votes) would go to Rubio?
RINO to RINO?
If Christie could just get a little more lovin’ from Obama he’d rise. (In the polls, of course—come on; mind out of the gutter.....)
Yes ... Perino is very unhappy!
I’d like to think that his support for McConnell helped his slide. It’s even more damaging now.
It's a little harder to predict where Carson's supporters will go.
Well, Christie is the recipient of the NH Union Leader’s lofty endorsement, so on that basis alone, he should have gotten a huge boost in the NH polls.
I also heard this morning that Christie’s wife, Mary Pat, has and is spending more time in NH than any other spouse ... holding Town Halls for women and attending church socials, sewing circles, etc.
Kasich spends a lot of time in NH, too.
OKay ... thanks very much.
Yep, in many ways it was his to lose, and he did.
I see.
well, he could have had my vote if he’d not parroted his Dad on defense (which, to my way of thinking anyway, was Dad’s great weakness).
There were quite a lot of people looking to see if Rand might move away from that, might sound more reliable on defense...but IMHO anyway he didn’t.
just my 2cents worth, nobody has to agree (and few ever do, ha!)
Best,
fhc
Flailing, flailing is the word you're looking for (and which appeared in the headline on Breitbart.
On balance, I do not like Rand Paul. But there is nothing I like about Christie. Nothing to balance out. All bad.
