Bahrain and Sudan have both severed relations with Iran, and the UAE has downgraded its diplomatic team.

Bahrain, which is ruled by a Sunni Muslim king but has a majority Shia population, on Monday gave Iranian diplomats 48 hours to leave the country.

Somalia is supporting Saudi, but nothing (yet) of diplomatic relations.

Nice to have money, soon there will be more countries.

These moves by Sunni countries(well, to be precise, ruling class are Sunnies) seem to be symbolic. I wonder if these actions would hurt Iran in any substantive way.

Are any of them contemplating economic sanctions or military maneuvers?

I remember that, back in 80's, during Iran-Iraq War, they had so-called 'tanker war.' Warplanes from either country fired at tankers leaving from the oil terminals on the other side. Iraqis used to say that they destroyed 'large naval targets', referring to tankers from Iranian side. Could we see something like that again between Gulf Sunni countries on the one side, and Iran, Iraq on the other side?
