UPDATED WITH FULL ROLL CALL VOTE –> SENATE PASSES OMNIBUS SPENDING BILL
The Right Scoop ^ | 12/18/2015

The Senate just passed the Omnibus spending bill that the House passed a few minutes ago:

Breaking: U.S. Senate passes $1.1 trillion spending bill; will send to @POTUS for his likely signature. Merry Christmas

BREAKING: U.S. Senate passes $1.1 trillion government funding bill, $680 million in tax breaks, lifts oil export ban

NBC reporter corrects Reuters:

I believe it's $680 BILLION, not million… https://t.co/fGeRMaYlMF

I’ll update with more when I have the vote counts and the roll calls…

UPDATE: Guess who missed such an important vote?

THE HILL – Sen. Marco Rubio (R-Fla.) missed Friday’s Senate vote approving a massive $1.8 trillion end-of-the-year spending bill and tax package — a day after he suggested that he would try to slow the legislation down.

The Florida Republican, who is running for president, was the only 2016 contender to miss the vote, which is the Senate’s final vote of the year.

Sens. Ted Cruz (R-Texas), Rand Paul (R-Ky.) and Bernie Sanders (I-Vt.), three other presidential candidates, all voted against the the legislation.

Sen. Lindsey Graham (R-S.C.), a fourth GOP presidential candidate from the Senate, backed the bill.

UPDATE: Here’s the vote count. All they needed was a simple majority to pass it. They clearly got much more than that:

Senate PASSES $1.1 trillion Omnibus funding/$680 billion tax extender package, 65-33. The bill now goes to the WH for Pres Obama's signature

— Frank Thorp V (@frankthorpNBC) December 18, 2015

#BREAKING Senate approves combined omnibus/tax pkg in what is expected to be final vote of the year, 65-33.

— Chad Pergram (@ChadPergram) December 18, 2015

UPDATE: A strong statement from Sen. Cruz who voted against the bill:

What we’ve seen in Congress today is profoundly disappointing. This spending bill does not honor the promises we made to the men and women who elected us. It funds Obamacare. It funds Planned Parenthood. It funds executive amnesty. It fails to protect our national security and stop Syrian refugees from coming to this country. It fails to do anything to stop the Iranian Nuclear Deal. And what does it do? It jacks up yet more low-skilled immigration, which will only drag down wages, kill American jobs, and hurt working men and women.

This bill is the big-government agenda of Democrats that effectively forfeits our massive Republican victories of 2014 and cements Obama’s priorities for nearly the full remainder of his term. This is the Washington Cartel in action, and it’s precisely why the American people from coast-to-coast are so volcanically frustrated.

Not surprising - our blue bloodied Cornyn voted YEA on this monstrosity. The winos need to be buried with no markers on the grave-sight. As expected, CRUZ voted NO.

Light ‘em up.

Done. Just called and said I would be leading up the "Republicans for" his dummycrat rival, and will be giving my money and vote to the democratic rival come 2020. Gardner must go, due to his willing ness to stab me in the back with his thus far consistent votes for odumbo. I'm done with Gardner.

I have told Gardner that he will lose his base by doing this and get hit during his next primary; he pretends to be concerned.

Omnibus Bill is an absolute betrayal to the American people who put them in office....so what's new about that!

Meanwhile......Sen. Marco Rubio 'absent' from Senate vote a day after he suggested that he would try to slow the legislation down....and counting as his 40th missed vote

Let's put his seat up for bids......

'EVERYTHING' Ted Cruz said and exposed on the night he filibustered is being played out before our eyes........he clearly and precisely exposed this Cartel and has fought in the trenches against them.....he's been unrelenting and consistent....Nobody running has this record of 'standing up' against the Rep/Dem Establishment...nor for Conservative values and our Constitution as Ted Cruz!....

“Every one of the clowns from Utah voted for this abortion except for Mike Lee.”

But when it’s election time, they wander back and brag about how conservative they are. I’m sick of them all. (Lee excepted)

Stevens Senator_Stevens@stevens.senate.gov 224-3004 224-1044

You are a little late on Sen Stevens. Alaska's Senators are MurCOWski and Sullivan. MurCOWski followed her usual turncoat pattern and voted for it. Sullivan, on the other hand, voted against it.
