The UN was actually constrained in its investigation of this CW attack or incident
They were only “ authorized” to investigate if it happened, but not who did it
If TPTB were so dang sure it was Assad why would they limit the UN investigation? A UN report finding Assad at fault for that CW incident would legitimize western military action against the Syrian regime. Which the UN has never authorized.
The Russians did their own investigation and reported that the chemical composition ( fingerprint) of the agent used did not come from Syrian military stocks. But they did not say which lab the weapons could be traced to... And which to which country such weapons had been supplied. Iraq, Libya, UKraine, or ...
Regardless by taking control of the CW held by the Syrian regime the Russians thwarted another future false flag and stymied obama... Who remains an unreliable fool in the eyes of our allies because of his do- called red line and hus failure.

I do remember a Syrian nun who was interviewed talking about knowing the neighborhood and the people who lived there who were supposedly attacked ... And not knowing who were these gassed bodies displayed to the world. She said, Who were the children who died? Where were their parents? If truth is ever revealed it could be a terrible story especially if US agencies had a role

I wouldn't either, if I were them. You realize that Russia's also violated every BCW treaty they ever signed? Why would they take credit for a chemical attack or blame an ally who bought the stuff from them and/or developed it with Russian assistance? Why would we give Russia any credibility on this given their proven treaty and sales record? Just because we hate Obama? Hell, Obama isn't doing anything that a Russian mole would not do if elected to the US Presidency... ever wonder if Obama's Russian is as good as his parent's? They met while taking Russian in college.

Russia wasn't trying to stymie a false flag, Russia was simply removing its stocks just as Primakov and the boys did in Iraq, to avoid complicating future relations with other countries by keeping their stuff from being used on some other country's troops or other target that could result in blowback on Russia. The russians have always had bug out plans for their products in the event their client states become destabilized.
The Russians have no credibility on the matter- they’re the country which has long supplied every nasty regime on earth with BCW....up to and including the nuclear lab site the Israeli’s took out in 2006 in Syria [where a few Norks were working too.]
And the Russians, along with South Africa, were the folks who helped Saddam’s bud Chemical Ali move Iraq’s stuff across the border into Syria...hence the little incident with Primakov’s motorcade on the Iraq-Syrian border.
