Another test. Another form of terror —

“Preston shopping centre bomb alert: Police say device was planted deliberately to endanger life,” British Army News, December 17, 2015 (thanks to Armaros): Preston’s Fishergate Shopping Centre remains closed as bomb disposal experts examine device

Police have confirmed a device that went off at a shopping centre in Preston was planted deliberately and was intended to endanger life.

Army bomb disposal experts are on the scene after the “suspicious device” went off in bin. It caused no real damage and no injuries.

“Army bomb disposal experts are on the scene after the “suspicious device” went off in bin. It caused no real damage and no injuries.”

“Hello - police? We just had a bomb go off. No one was hurt, but come quick!”

“A bomb you say - we’ll call the bomb disposal unit.”

“But the bomb already went off!”

“Yes - but it’s a bomb none the less! They are trained in this.”

When ever I have a bomb I want to dispose of, my first choice is always a shopping mall .../s

When I was a Kid, I had dozens of M-80’s, Cherry Bombs, Ash Cans and Firecrackers as part of my personal Arsenal.

In fact, I was the Ordinance Supplier to the Kids in my Neighborhood, while making a tidy profit.

That would make me a Terrorist Suspect today.

Yeah, my Bedroom Closet was the Armory.

Also had a .22 Bolt Action Rifle, a .410 Single Shot Shotgun and the appropriate Ammunition for both.

I began my stockpiling when I was Eight. Never did get the War Surplus Anti Tank Cannon that I wanted though.

If there was a No Fly List back then, my whole Family would have been on it.

Sounds to me like the bomb “disposed” of itself - the police had nothing to do with it but pick up the pieces afterwords - which is all they’re really good for...

Either an Islamic terrorist or some other nut doing “their Christmas bombing” early.

we used to travel to China town in NYC in the mid 50’s (only about 7 miles from Northern Bergen Cty in NJ) and buy a Matt of 1.5 inch fire crackers (80 packs) for $8.00, Cherry Bombs for $.10 each and M89”s for $.25 each.

We took the subway from GCS with never a problem. We walked the streets in China Town until we were approached by someone asking if we wanted to buy fireworks. This never took linger than 5 minutes since they knew we were there for that and we stuck out like sore thumbs.

We told them what we wanted, gave them the money and were told to “wait here” and they would be back. We were never once ripped off and on top of it all they would actually escort us to the subway so there was no chance of being relieved of our newly purchased merchandise. They were smart enough to understand the value of protecting customers if they hoped to see us again.
