Trump was not only a democrat, but one for 8 years.

Based on the info traderrob provided, I must concede that is true. And although I was aware that Trump was once a democrat (as was Reagan) I was not aware it was that recently. I am working on a response and will post it to you soon. I need to look into this a bit and I can only do so much while I am at work.

What meaning does it have? None that I can see. It would be different if Trump had been a politician, and held an office as a democrat. He never was a full blown democrat like Bernie Sanders or Harry Reid. Trump said he’s always identified with both democrat and republican on different ideals.
