Let me explain how I look at this. Just as I don't want to be governed by a Democrat from California, I don't want to be governed by one from New York either. So I'm stuck on my values. I'm a conservative. It's hard for some folks to understand who are unfamiliar with the literature and its link to history and our way of life. I won't fawn over a foreign dictator even if he feigns a few conservative values like a respect for Christianity. It's the abuse of power that tells me he isn't one of us. I don't care that he's Russian. In fact, I see that as all the more tragic that this former KGB man is usurping the rights of his people. And as for Trump, who knows what this newborn fraud believes? Yesterday he was saying sweet things about Hillary and helping her to gain power. Now, he's supposed to be the best conservative out there.
And your remarks about Stalin seem...weirdly irrelevant, as if you don't know that that was a pact with a communist devil. I'm not fond of mass murderers, and even though Putin served that system as a vile secret policeman, I'd like to think Freeper would hate communism for its crimes.
Frankly I am not concerned about the politics of a country that is engaged in destroying an enemy that has vowed to wipe us out. Those politics can be debated in the faculty lounges after the shooting stops. We didn't care what Stalin thought about politics; it was how many divisions he could throw into the fight.
Don't confuse an alliance of mutual interest with a blessing of ones political system. Now is not the time for that. For right now at this moment in history the political and ideological differences must take a back seat to face a threat that needs solving.
IT IS KILLING TIME!!! When the enemy is defeated we may then take up the subjects of political discourse and disagreement. War makes strange bedfellows.
