They don’t have to drop out as very few people will vote for them. The reason they are staying in is, 1. ego, and, 2. money. They have to keep pulling in the bucks so they’ll have a campaign chest for their next adventure. Also, they are hoping to be somebody’s number two. (Vice president, not excrement.)
EGO is the main reason. They get to state their vacuous arguments in front of millions and be mentioned as a Presidential candidate.
