Here’s a link to a Modern Marvels documentary on the building of some of America’s superhighways. Included is Glenwood Canyon I-70, the stretch where Woods was involved in the accident.

Thanks. Will check out.
I also found a link to what I think was one of Woods’ best films: The Onion Field, a true story about a ruthless cop killing years ago.

The Onion Field is a 1979 American crime drama film directed by Harold Becker, written by Joseph Wambaugh that is based on his 1973 true crime novel of the same title. The film stars John Savage, James Woods, Franklyn Seales and Ted Danson in his film debut.
Plot:
The film focuses on an actual 1963 event in which Los Angeles Police Department detectives Karl Hettinger and Ian Campbell were kidnapped by criminals Greg Powell and Jimmy Smith (aka “Jimmy Youngblood”) in Hollywood and driven to an onion field near Bakersfield, where Campbell was shot and killed and Hettinger managed to escape.
Hettinger’s eyewitness account leads to the arrest of the two men, who are tried and convicted of first-degree murder. While they languish on death row, Powell and Smith learn how to exploit the legal system and after a series of appeals their sentences are reduced to life imprisonment following a court decision abolishing executions in California.
Meanwhile, Hettinger’s physical condition and emotional state slowly deteriorate as his failure to act more aggressively on the night of the incident is questioned by those in authority and his fellow officers. Wracked with guilt and remorse, he experiences nightmares, impotence, weight loss, kleptomania, and thoughts of suicide.

Here’s a 30 min documentary about the making of the film and the true story behind it (The Onion Field). James Woods is one of those discussing it.

Going to read this. Not sure if I saw the movie or not, but I can remember my mom telling me about this and I did start the book, but never got too far into it.
Thanks, ETL.
Great shots of the canyon. Thanks.
Thank God. He’s always been one of my favourite actors. He’s also brilliant and a conservative.
Ok ,if you say. I watch very few movies — most are drivel and ludicrous. I guess I’m stuck in the past.
I prefer the movies which have aged like fine wine. Most of what is made today stinks. Many are too violent, dark, or have an air headed plot or star which is found to be unlikable. LOL for years James Woods would be recognized -seen before in other pictures. But it took some time to remember his name.
You dirty bird.
I know. Also they belittle white males and glorify minorities . I never spend money to watch propaganda.
Sorry it took so long. Here is the pic of James Woods and his tow truck driver...the post says:
This is the fabulous Victor from AAA and Valley Towing. Guardian angel!!! 970-945-8120 The best guy ever...
