Not everyone has ears to hear what Cruz actually said on the immigration issue. They think denying what his position truly is will help their candidate. I don’t think dishonesty is every the road to success. That is also the road Rubio has taken.

I believe Cruz's strategy is go after the enablers paying the illegals to stay here. Prosecute. Cut of the food supply and the illegals self deport. I like that plan. It's cheapest, honest, and most effective. We don't have to deport because their empty bellies will make them long for home. They got here on their own steam, make it easier for them to leave.

Actually Cruz did say the word “deport,” just not directly in the Trump context. He pointed out just how many people Clinton and Bush deported and said that if you build the wall and follow the law the problem will be solved.
