Agree, however shutting down 900 schools, affecting hundreds of thousands of kids, hundred of thousands of parents not being able to go to work?...This seems very extreme.

Where I was, most of the threats were specific to the one school and called in to it (long before internet or e-mail). It was the only HS in the county with a demographic mix likely to have problems, and the school districts for the High Schools in the county were pretty much drawn to ensure that.

Now, in a place like LA, someone is laughing because of the amount of manpower required for the searches.

How long until the ordinary criminals figure out they can divert a significant police presence to known areas with a phone call and at least attempt to take advantage of that?
