Does anyone know what specific content was deemed to violate “community standards”?

From what I read here at FR, Germany has pressured Facebook, Google, and Twitter to pull anything defined âhate speechâ under German law, which is quite protective of Islam.Would this be an Angela Merkel thing? I read that she was an East German commie back in the day.

"Censorship by definition can only be done by government."
That isn't correct. There are constitutional restrictions on censorship that only apply to government, but private entities also censor things - and USUALLY have a RIGHT to - but that does not mean it isn't censorship. I say "usually" because I think that courts in some cases have stuck their noses into the affairs of private entities and said they couldn't censor this or that.

"Censorship by the government is unconstitutional."
Even that principle is in shreds, what with all of the restrictive speech codes that exist in governmental institutions and the public schools and colleges.

"I wonder when that happened. because right after all the brouhaha of the black church shooting, I checked Amazon when I read they'd banned Confederate insignia items, and couldn't find any. I believe you, I just couldnât find any at the time when I checked."
I think Ebay and Wal-Mart stopped selling confederate items.

There is usually a kind of satanic inversion of language when liberals employ terms like "inclusive" and "diverse." In actual practice, these terms often stand for a practice of exclusion of certain ideas and/or people, and for enforced conformity.
To cite one specific example, after the recent elections, The Seattle Times crowed about how the Seattle City Council is more diverse than ever, because it contains women and people of several ethnicities. But today's council is arguably clustered around the narrowest ideological spectrum (far-left) in its history.

"YouTube has Standards? Well, that explains all the 9/11 Truther nonsense that infests it."
Not to mention the rabid anti-Israeli and anti-Semitic stuff. It is a joke that someone like Brother Nathanael is allowed, but Attkisson is banned.

They did ban Confederate stuff, but of course, there was too much of it out there for the ban to work, and so they’ve quietly let it slide into the memory hole.

Wish Fox would hire her an ax Geraldo.I change the channel as soon as Whore-aldo goes on. The only time I ever rooted for neo-nazis was when they broke his nose.

As with Cuba, communist China, North Korea, the USSR, and NAZI Germany, the media is PART of the government. In the USA, the press used to "keep the government honest," but for a very long time, they've shifted far to the left, and realized that they can make the world a better place (as far as they're concerned) by teaming up with the government.
The only time the media will report wrong-doing by government is when someone doesn't stay on the leftist plantation.
Let's not forget that the NY Times promoted the writings of Walter Durante, who wrote about how wonderful life was in the Ukraine under Stalin, while Stalin was committing genocide, on par with that of NAZI Germany.

Sharyl, if you wore a Burkha and started up a site against anti-Muslim racism, you could get back on.
Oh, wait, I have an idea. Video yourself opening boxes of play doh and shopkins, and in the background talk about the truths you always tell. You’ll actually get more viewers this way.
I’m joking but it makes me sad how truth is not welcome in any of the media sources. How long before free republic has to go to the dark web?

Total control of the internet is the dream of every Left Winger. Itâs bad enough right now without government involvement. Wait until your wish is granted in the form of the Department of Total Freedom of Internet Speech. Remember, The EPA was Nixonâs idea. Yes, this system where San Fransisco based Google has absolute and total control to censor information and ideas with which they disagree is a lot better than a system where the government forces equal access.

Google Earth was originally Keyhole, Inc. developed by the CIA.
Handy-dandy little computer program offering 3-D satellite and street views
of your home.
Some people have reported harassment by various government agencies that are using Google Earth to examine their property, then contacting them, demanding to know what’s in the storage shed or who stays in their guest house.
