Bull!
A few weeks ago I read a very insightful piece by Gary North on Conservatism and the fact that Conservatism per se really doesn’t stand for anything. It has no Ideology or Philosophy behind it. After some research I find that Mr. North is correct.
What is passed off as Conservatism are elements of Libertarianism and Free Market Capitalism.
At this point I want practical and logical and Trump is who can win. I am not concerned or do I care if Trump is Conservative, I want to win.
I agree. It is just a term that has been corrupted by the left, just like everything else they get their tentacles attached too.
“At this point I want practical and logical and Trump is who can win. I am not concerned or do I care if Trump is Conservative, I want to win.”
Therein lies the rub. I want to win too. I like Trump. But I cringe at the thought of him self-imploding just days before the general election, throwing it all to the empty pants suit. I’m beginning to put more stock in Cruz’ steadiness and consistency as a candidate.

He is wrong. Completely wrong. He couldn’t be more wrong. Just read Locke’s Second Treatise on Civil Government. It isn’t that long. You’ll recognize a lot of the text from the Declaration and the Constitution. Mark Levin, if he’s nothing else, is an authority on the philosophy of conservatism. Scalia too.
What you want is the philosophy called “pragmatism” that was popularized by Leftist Progressive John Dewy.

I am at a loss for words. No, not really. The practical and logical Trump stated less than a week ago, while pandering to a union, that among his first actions as president would be to sign an Executive Order mandating the death penalty for anyone convicted of killing a police officer.
It drew thunderous applause since he was pandering to police, the group he was speechifying to. Trump was telling this group of potential voters exactly what they wanted to hear. It was ignorance embracing ignorance.
Unfortunately, Trump was being neither practical nor logical in this proclamation.
His Executive Order would be illegal, unconstitutional, and defy federalism. In other words, it was not a practical solution because he could not do it. It was not logical for him to think he could. It was nothing more than his ignorance of the role of Chief Executive on display, actually. It was the Associations ignorance to think Trump stating it could make it so.
He did get quite a bit of applause, though.
