That is a net big negative that Cruz is a Republicans. Republicans have screwed the electorate for over 10 years now.
Bush, Walker, Fiorina, Jindal, Graham, Paul, Kaisch, all pretenders put up as Trump slayers.
Now, their pictures are on the back of 18 wheelers with the caption “Have you seen”
My thought on this is that the Washington Post is simply doing more of their “Let’s get Cruz & Trump to start fighting each other” shtick.
So you want a Democrat (Trump or Hillary) instead? Good thinking!
Ted Cruz brought this on himself—he is not well liked in the Senate—many plam him for the Gov. Shutdown that hurt the GOP. A smart many but maybe not smart enough to be president. He would be a divider like Obama. Trump is right.
A "legitimate, conservative Republican." Oh, you mean someone like George H. W. (New World Order) Bush, Bob Dole, George W. (Medicare Part D) Bush, John McStain or Mitt Romney? THAT kind of conservative Republican?
The author lost me right there.
Yeah, it “hurt” the GOP so much that they won the Senate back!
We have gotten screwed by Republicans for over 10 years. Republicans have no moral authority or credibility.
We have gotten screwed by democrats for the same reasons.
Trump might be a pleasant surprise.
Shutdown then the GOP swept this country at the national and state/local level in the election that followed.
Are you spreading the false claims of others or doing this all by your lonesome.
Just wondering...
All this Trump bashing will make it much harder to want to support Cruz if he's the next guy.
You need to be careful you don't piss off the Trump supporters who will just take it out on Cruz.
By no means is Cruz a perfect candidate. He's much weaker than Trump on several issues and his appeal to the Tea Party and Evangelical wing will turn off many during the general.
Nice ‘RAT talking points you have there.
Where did the author claim that any of the gentlemen you named were conservatives?
Vote for Hillary then.
Why "ultimately"? Does the author have reason to believe that conservatives are currently asleep?
Nice attitude fella. You'll have Hillary anyways if Cruz is the candidate. No way he makes it in the general.
only in Iowa and only among one specific group. It is the same way Huckabee did it. How about the other states? not much shift there.

Yeah, taking back the Senate and increasing the number of House seats didn*t work out as we hoped, but that*s not Ted*s fault.
Cruz should have made deals with Mcconnell/Reid ???
Based on what evidence? That’s what they said about Ronald Reagan in 1980. How’d that turn out?
