...Rush Limbaugh criticized ... Donald Trump for his remarks about fellow candidate Texas Senator Sen. Ted Cruz (R-TX) and Supreme Court justice Antonin Scalia, saying the attacks raised “red flags” and that Trump’s attack on Cruz are “no different than what the Democrat Party would say” on Monday.
Rush said, after playing a clip of Trump calling Cruz a “maniac” in the Senate, “even people who are not particularly aligned with Cruz on the right have gotta be curious about this because this is no different than what the media would say about Ted Cruz. This is no different than what the Democrat Party would say. I mean, this is what the Republican establishment would say, for crying out loud.”
He continued, “He’s essentially put on his Sen. John McCain (R-AZ) hat here, saying, ‘I’m Donald McCain, and I’m the guy that can cross the aisle and work with the other side. Ted Cruz can’t.’ I was kind of surprised by that.” He also stated, “for somebody running for the Republican nomination, who has set himself up as anti-establishment, to join the establishment in that kind of criticism of Cruz, I don’t get it. It doesn’t make a lot of sense.”
".....And “Trump’s not trying to portray himself as a conservative, either. … so, it’s not a violation of that. But he’s clearly making himself out to be anti-establishment, and yet he joins them here. And then he dumped on Cruz for being opposed to ethanol? In other words, we as Republicans must support government subsidies to corn farmers in Iowa if we’re to have any chance of winning Iowa? We’ve gotta stand for subsidies? And that, again, is not a conservative position. To go after Cruz on that basis, is again the way the Democrats and the media would go after him.”

Rush is right on this one.
This was the most spot on part of Rush’s monologue today.
Makes sense. Trump isn’t a genuine conservative.
x, your thoughts?
Trumpbots : Time to trow Rush under the bus, he ain’t no conservative.
Trumpbots world, world of a alternate universe.
Where has Rush been? Trump has always had a broad base of support since he began running. It has been touted and bantered about for quite a while now. Look at some of the people who have endorsed Trump. It’s no surprise.
Trump looks for political weakness and then seizes on them. He was only doing this to weaken Cruz's Iowa support. Core beliefs mean nothing to Trump since what he is really about is beating people and winning whatever game he is currently engaged in.
Cruz fired the first shot.
He is just a steel town boy on a Saturday night
Looking for the fight of his life
In the real time world, no one sees him at all
They all say he’s crazy
Locking rhythms to the beat of his heart
Changing movement into light
He has danced into the danger zone
When the dancer becomes the dance
It can cut you like a knife
If the gift becomes the fire
On the wire between will and what will be
He’s a maniac, maniac on the floor
And he’s dancing like he’s never danced before
He’s a maniac, maniac on the floor
And he’s dancing like he’s never danced before
Cruz never called anyone in the Senate a “liar”
Mitch (Turtleneck) McConnell would loudly disagree with you.
âFlat-out lieâ: Cruz calls McConnell a liar on Senate floor
Fox News Headline
“It saddens me to say this. I sat in my office, I told my staff the majority leader looked me in the eye and looked 54 Republicans in the eye. I cannot believe he would tell a flat-out lie, and I voted based on those assurances that he made to each and every one of us,” Cruz said.
“What we just saw today was an absolute demonstration that not only what he told every Republican senator, but what he told the press over and over and over again, was a simple lie.”
The fair weather Trump supporters are singing a whole different tune about Trump now.
Now is the time of choosing, between a real conservative Ted Cruz or snake oil showman ( Lonesome Rhodes ) pretending to be a conservative Donald Trump.
It’s funny how a few days or weeks changes things.
Before the Trump supporters were praising Rush Limbaugh for talking about Trump, now they want to trow Rush under the bus.
It’s a amazing sight to behold.
The cult of personality drinking Trump’s YUUGIE koolaid.
He most definitely called Mitch McConnell one. It was much deserved too.
That's what I always thought. It's certainly undeniable that he is crushing his GOP opponents. However, if he does have significant appeal to non-GOP voters, why is he getting the worst numbers against Clinton of any of the major candidates?

I might be able to say something constructive, but I’m a bit hacked at you for what I see as unfairness.
I’m not surprised at his disappointment with Scalia and affirmative action. Trump has a bit of support from blacks, he’s had a recent meeting with some leaders of that community, and his public response here is a balancing act.
My opinion on affirmative action is that it was clearly necessary when first implemented and not so much now. The real issue now is family structure and its impact on support for education.
So far as Trump attacking Cruz over being a senate wackobird (McCain?), I think Trump is appealing to the supporters of Bush, Christie, et al, who will soon peel off due to the dismal performances of their candidates.
Trump wants them. He’s working to gain market share NOT by peeling off Cruz supporters, who aren’t affected by his reminding about Cruz aggressiveness in the Senate, but by taking the supporters of the other candidates who will leave them the longer their candidate maintains dismal numbers.
Welcome to the party, pal!
Rush is right. I think Trump is toast. National polls show Hillary thrashing him in spades by as much as 10 points.
Sorry, there is a difference between working with your counterparts and taking there side. Trump is no McLame.
