Possibly, but sandflies could end up just like bedbugs. Hard to stop and control and very nearly everywhere.

According to the Whitehouse the best cure for this is the prompt delivery of c-17 loads of TOW missals to ISIS.

Nossir. Obama just delivered a speech, and he specifically ruled this out. According to him, the best way to fight this disease is to bring 1,000,000 Syrian 'refugees' into America, with emphasis on those who have the disease. They are to be located in major population centers.

It is caused by climate change.

“Because?????”

We have had many soldier infected return to this country. It is NOT contagious and requires transmission by the sand fly which does not exist/live in our climate.

This disease is nothing new. It is only a problem when we are operating in that part of the world.

We have been operating in that part of the world long before 9-11, but also after over 10 years of intensive military operations with thousands of military personnel being there, it has NOT spread here. The Sand Fly cannot live here.

This NOTHING to be worried about. Don’t extrapolate from a problem in that region due to inadequate medical treatment because of ISIL driving off physicians to it spreading to this country. There are plenty of real concerns. Stick with them.

Reading (this is from memory 30-years ago) the Official US Army Medical Books that chronicled WWII, there was reports of a sand borne disease that was never officially diagnosed, probably due the short length of the African campaign. The British had found out about something similar in their military medical journals beginning in 1870’s, but they too basically put up with it and did not spend time in the areas once it was encountered.
