Orwell was so far ahead of his time. He had a keen understanding of human nature and the lust for power. This passage from 1984 always struck me as what I would hear if I read the minds of the autocrat:

Paul Ryan, who I thought was good, cant see the forest for the trees. They sit in Washinton DC, getting wined and dined by Muslim activists from CAIR and ISNA, and they believe every word of their bullshit.
When banning Muslims from immigrating into the USA, they say it goes against our values of religion. They have it backwards. Importing ISLAM goes against our values, as ISLAM has no respect for other religions. It is anti American to import it.
Paul Ryan and Mitch McConnel will not wake up until we have a slaughter of thousands a day. They fly the flag at half mast for the 14 in San Bernardino. A day later the flag goes back up and we then wait to see who the next 14 or 3000 are going to be.
This is why Trump is going up in the polls. It is bullshit that we sit like fish in a barrel waiting to get shot by the enemy as our leaders import them so they can slam the bullets into our brains.
