I have no doubt that Trump is extraordinarily popular, and I also agree that he has struck a nerve with the American people, including with me, personally. I like the guy and he has been a huge plus in moving the political debate toward issues that actually have meaning for me like coddling folks who are criminal by definition and who came come uninvited into our American House, and calling out the Muslim masses for their cowardly acquiescence to terror in their name, etc., instead of the usual political crap. All good.

Still I like another guy better, and have since before Trump came on the scene. One of these two is sure to win the Iowa Caucuses, I have my preference but I would be content either way.

I have noticed that many of the Trump followers are rabid, however. They are impolite, crude, abusive, and often dishonest about policy matters. I hope that if Trump loses in Iowa, as I think he probably will, that their vitriol will be held in check. Right now, I’d have to say that Trump’s rabid followers are his greatest liability, and that if this worsens they could sink him.

I’ve been struck by the bizarrely hostile and intellectually childish behavior of a few anti-Trump (and allegedly pro-Cruz) rabid posters for quite a while now.
They’ve gone far beyond the usual partisan primary silliness here.

They’re just plain idiots. Hurting Cruz and the forum.

I've noticed many Cruz supporter are rabid. I can repeat the same back to you. Verbatim.

"They are impolite, crude, abusive, and often dishonest about policy matters. ... their vitriol will be held in check. Right now, I'd have to say that Cruz's Trump's rabid followers are his greatest liability, and that if this worsens they could sink him."

Do want examples?

Even if Cruz did squeak by to a win in Iowa, he's miles behind in all of the Super Tuesday states, and to include the following before and after NH and SC, and to include FL. You think everyone is going to flock over to Cruz even if he did win in Iowa? Not likely.

I agree with you.

I like Trump a lot. We cannot overestimate what he has done to wake up people, take down the media and change this whole campaign.

I would walk over rose petals to vote for him with happy feet.

I was a victim of a bit of brutality during the last primary and it resulted in my staying dormant for a few years. I missed it here and I’m back to stay but I’d hate to see that happen again.

However, prickly and over-zealous Trump people can be nasty and sarcastic about Cruz, which I don’t like and see no reason for.
