Incorrect. As far as I know, if one is to believe Trump's words, he voted for McCain and Romney.
He was registered as a Democrat when Obama ran and McCain got the nomination, and while he had effusive and warm words for Hillary and Bill Clinton, publicly endorsed McCain, calling him a "smart guy" (these days, he calls him a "dummy"). Some wondered if it wasn't a response to Obama failing to name Clinton as his running mate -- Trump loved Hillary at the time.
