Or because it's common for the winner of a primary race to name his closest runner-up as his VP and it's a realistic thing to yearn for?

Here's the thing...I already have. Cruz is my candidate, all of the way. Which I have indicated here on FR on many occasions.
Having said that, the best thing Cruz and Trump could pull on the GOPe the DNC, and the MSM is some kind of rope a dope where they make a huge deal out of supposed rift, where in reality none exists.
If Cruz does not win the nomination...and I am going to do all I can to help him win it...then we will all have to look at who does win the nomination. If that is Trump, I will vote for him in a heartbeat, despite some of my own concerns about him, over Hillary or any DNC candidate.
