Ted Cruz plans to canvass the Super Tuesday nominating states in the week after the next Republican presidential debate.
Following Tuesday's debate in Nevada, Cruz will begin a tour of seven states before the Christmas holiday and focus heavily on those belonging in the SEC primary. "SEC" is a reference to the collegiate Southeastern Conference's prominence in NCAA football. The Texas senator will visit Minnesota, Virginia, Georgia, Alabama, Tennessee, Arkansas, Oklahoma.
"Our 'Take Off with Ted' barnstorming of the March 1st states will fortify our national organization and position us to win on Super Tuesday," said Rick Tyler, Cruz campaign spokesman, in a statement. "We've always believed that the GOP primary calendar gives Cruz an early advantage so we have spent significant time in those states and have built an army of conservative volunteers to get out the vote just like the ones we have unleashed in the first four early states."
The Cruz campaign embarked on a similar tour in August, when the senator went on a bus tour through the SEC primary states. His "Take Off with Ted fly-around" in December will include stops in 12 cities in one week, according to his campaign.
The Texas senator has long described the southern states as crucial to his path to victory and said he expects March 1st - when GOP voters in 12 states will cast their ballots-to be a "very, very good day" for his campaign.
Cruz ranks first in the Washington Examiner's GOP presidential power rankings.
GO CRUZ GO!
This article seems to be solely about Cruz News. So how many posts before the (you know) show up?
Anyway, Cruz will win IA/SC and win most of the SEC States.
Looking at the calendar, Michigan seems to be a really big do or die state. If Cruz wins there, it’s essentially over.
I believe that Nevada, Florida, and Michigan are critical. Those three states have wildly different constituencies ( from each other and within the states themselves). A win in 2/3 negates the “unelectable” baloney that is floating about.
