Huh?
He said exactly the same thing he’s been saying in public for months: That the Trump and Carson poll numbers will go down and when they do, he Cruz will pick up their supporters. He compared their poll numbers to a parabola. He said he’d be a better commander in chief than either of them(which happens to be true). What’s new about any of that?
This tape isn’t playing in its entirety like it did on the evening news. Cruz is the one who wants to appear “nice”, whereas Trump bars nothing. It was Cruz’ remarks about “ bear hugging Trump and Carson” and “smothering them with love” for the public benefit that rubbed me the wrong way. It just didn’t sound like the serious Mr. Nice Guy he is in public. I’m of the same mind as Trump. Don’t save snide remarks for private meetings. Bring ‘em on! That’s why I like Trump’s style.
This issue just points up why I support Trump. He doesn’t have to bother with private kow towing to donors. Cruz had better be more circumspect about his tone in these meetings. They’re never really “private” as Rommney could attest.
