The September Hajj stampede killed at least 2,411 pilgrims, a new count shows, three times the number of deaths acknowledged by Saudi Arabia.
The figures establish the crush on September 24 as the deadliest in the history of the annual pilgrimage.
Saudi's official death toll of 769 people has not changed since September 26, and officials have yet to address the discrepancy.
The kingdom rebuffed criticism from its regional rival Iran and efforts by other countries to join a probe into the deaths.
Saudi's King Salman ordered an investigation into the tragedy almost immediately, yet few details have been made public since and hundreds of pilgrims remain missing.

Bart: Stampeding cattle.
Hedley Lamarr: That's not much of a crime.
Bart: Through the Vatican?
Hedley Lamarr: Kinkyyyy. Sign here.
Thank you for the cheerful news for an otherwise gloomy Friday.
That would explain it perhaps. Just curious....
“Hey, it’s Mohammed!”
That gave me a good chuckle. Excellent.
Question: “What do you call 2,411 dead Moose Limbs?”
Anser: “A good start.”
I may have mis-used the term ‘hire’. More servitude with the Saudis holding their passport hostage.
I understand. More than likely held somewhat prisoners.. There are tons of stories about people going there for the “opportunities” only to find themselves being held as slaves and treated worse!
I know a woman from India, whose sister was a maid for almost a decade. Almost as soon as she got there, she wanted out...but they held her passport hostage. She was college educated too
This is what we have wrought by making the Saudis wealthy, by refusing to exploit our own energy. I hear UAE is even worse than Saudi.
Yeah, that’s their M.O. alright.
After the military and college, I could’ve gone to Saudi and/or UAE working for any number of defense and industrial contractors. No way, I’d seen enough of those countries on active-duty to last the rest of my life. Same with Egypt, they’ll have to fire my a** first.
Actually they got the idea from Running of the Bulls at Pmpalona
