A pricy, pricy, flop.
Back before Jeb Bush officially announced his candidacy, I argued that - fairly or unfairly - his candidacy was doomed by his last name. He could be the greatest, most conservative, candidate in history, or he could be a RINO squish, and it wouldn't change a thing. The country simply isn't interested in putting another Bush in the White House.
The flip side of that argument was this: The name that doomed him also guaranteed that he and his supporters would have a mountain of cash on hand. The Bush family is, for obvious reasons, incredibly well-connected. Favors are owed and friends have deep pockets. Jeb started the election season with a huge personal haul and a massive, well-heeled, Super PAC.
...None of that cash has mattered.
Depending on the poll, Jeb is hovering around 2-5%. Most people seem to know that he's running - which, I suppose, means he's doing better than George Pataki - but there seems to be no momentum whatsoever with his campaign. As the idiom goes, it's probably "all over but the shoutin'."
So how much have his people spent to prop up their failing candidate? As the WaPo reports, they've torn through around $50 Million - roughly half of their total take.

Ten million per percentage point...what a bargain! :)
Since it has no doubt put food on the table for advertising, political operative and other groups, it is not a complete waste.
I have seen some of his sorry a$$ adds on Fox. What a loser.
How much to make him go away? Maybe we could follow the Freepathon with a Jeb-Go-Home-Athon.
The spooky part of “Jeb’s” candidacy seems to be the fact that he cannot grasp the fact that the electorate does not want him as their candidate.
Go away, Jeb.
His new improved campaign motto — “JEB CAN SPEND IT!” — ought to be really popular with the statists and gibsmedats.
They admire that skill.
Hey Jeb please keep wasting your backers’s money.
Then, they will have less to spend on trying to elect their criminal buddy, Hilliarily.
In July, Jeb took an Uber ride. The media swooned over the presumptive nominee.
That seems like a thousand years ago.
Trump sure has shaken things up.
It's the Pathway to Amnesty (He would argue with it being "amnesty", and would call it something else.
Amnesty for illegal aliens, however slow-walked, is still amnesty for illegal aliens.
We (the GOP grass roots and likely most Indies) do NOT want it...
...and...
...THAT settles it.
(Support for Common Core FIASCO did not help.)
.
The GOP is keeping Jebbie on hot standby until they figure out a way to drive Trump out of the race.
Little Yebbie is in the process of spending himself to zero in the polls. With $50 million left, my bet is that with each $10 million of additional campaign ad spending he will fall 1 percentage point. It’s just too bad that to the people who’ve given him this money, $100 million is chump change.
Pricy, pricy.
My spellchecker doesn’t like “pricy.”
Can’t say as I do, either. Maybe he’ll
change it if I ask nicly. But, if not, icy why.
In case you haven’t noticed the RNC and so called ‘Republican leaders’ don’t care what the people want. With their Trump vitriol they are finally making it obvious.
He darn sure does not need to get near our money.
There is truth in what you say. However, the fundamental split between elites and the people does not bode well for the Republican party. We face liberal Democrats who are unified in their lust for “freebies” and the acquisition of power to rule everyone’s life in every detail.
“Yeb! Yeb!” the dozens and dozens of impassioned supporters cry, “Run, Yeb! And when you hit the Mexican border, keep running!”
This might be your last chance to get in on the action with an official Jebbie Bush Guacamole Bowl...
