I realized, at some point, that I could not keep believing the liberals who kept telling me that our family was poor because the rich stole everything from us.
When I gave up that belief, as well as many other beliefs meant to hold poor people down, I managed to actually do something with my life other than being a welfare queen.
Good for you, with all my heart! So many people talk the talk, you walked the walk! And it had to be even harder for you because you had to leave the “group think” behind, and the group was family.
