"We're at war, get it through your head," says Trump. He's going to shut down all immigration from Muslims. A lot of people like that idea. I wonder though, his Trump going to temporarily shut down his business interests in Istanbul, Mumbai (20% Muslim), or Dubai. Is Trump going to put a moratorium on hiring Muslims in any of his domestic and European holdings?
Actually a President has broad latitude under existing law. He absolutely CAN do it according to our current laws. There is nothing remotely “illegal or unconstitutional” about. If people want to debate the wisdom of this law, that is one thing but that NOT want any of the Trump critics are doing. They are painting themselves into a rhetorical corner that is contrary to the legal facts.

If the author cannot understand the difference between doing business else where in the world, and bringing Islamic people TO the US given the current world situation, they are not even bothering to think.
Naturalized citizens who join or aid terrorist organizations within 5 years of their naturalization can have their citizenship revoked. Those here on a visa can be deported. Denaturalization and deportation should be made extensive use of. Minneapolis is a hotbed for Islamic radicals from Somalia.

I don’t know about this post. Clicked on the link and found that, far from islamophobia, Trump has long exhibited a most cordial posture toward any and all people who wanted to jump in with him to make money and a better future.
That’s not what I asked. If Muslims are so dangerous that we need to keep all of them out of the country, why is Trump employing them and buying their politicians (remember it was Trump who said one must buy politicians to be in his line of work, which certainly extends to politicians in Muslim countries)?
You know what I think? Trump is talking crap to win the Republican nomination.

What that link proves is that Donald Trump does not hate Muslims. He just wants the ones that come here to be properly vetted. And until then none should be allowed to enter the country. And I happen to agree.

The problem with me is my lack of imagination. I’m not able to listen to Trump and imagine him saying things he hasn’t said.

It’s all over the news today. The establishment constantly thinks that they have the dagger that will bring down Trump. Lindsey Graham is just an embarrassment as an adult. Again, they will be amazed and disappointed when his numbers go up instead of down.

Trump has said that Muslim entry into the country needs to be halted while the Government works out a way to vet the ones who are admitted. Like Greta VanS who wants to know how that effects American soldiers who are Muslims(not at all...duh) you are ignoring what is being said and substituting an absurd position so you can attack or vilify. That is shameful because Americans are being put at risk while Liberal posture about politically correct ideology.
That has nothing to do with suggesting that Muslims are bad people, nothing to do with legitimate business interests. Its Liberals who want to boycott Israel for defending its land and people not Trump.
Trump is suggesting a very common sense precaution. America needs to get a handle on what is going on inside our borders, ferret out the cells that are trying to kill us without adding more people to check on. When that is accomplished and we can vet people and keep track of them once they enter as visitors then we can lift the ban.
Um, if Trump becomes President, he has to put his personal holding in trust and HE WILL HAVE NO CONTROL OVER THESE STRAWMAN POINTS.
/Unlike the Clintons, Trump would likely respect the legalities of the trust...
